Food is Medicine. Yoga Transforms. The Body Heals.
I experienced these three truths first hand.
I changed my diet. I change my lifestyle. I changed my migraines. And that changed my life.
It sparked an insatiable craving in me to learn more. What else could food do for the body? What other benefits did yoga and mindfulness have? What wisdom did nature and ancient tradition still hold?
And so began my quest for knowledge.
5,000 Years of Wisdom
I enrolled in a Yoga Teacher Training to better understand the practice for myself and to share that with others.
I studied everything from the anatomy of the body and the detail of each pose to yoga philosophy and it’s founding leaders.
What I learned most is yoga is far more than just poses. My most valuable discoveries of yoga can be best expressed in the words of B.K.S. Iyengar, “Yoga allows you to rediscover a sense of wholeness in your life, where you do not feel like you are constantly trying to fit broken pieces together.”
This opportunity to quiet the noise in my life then lead to a deeper exploration of my faith that has since taken on new meaning.
I was hooked. I practiced daily. My craving for health and life grew stronger. So what next?
A Big Dream in the Big Apple
I got on the express train to NYC and began studying at the Natural Gourmet Institute as well as the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. It was time to take a deeper look into food and its effects on the body.
I studied countless dietary theories. I discover foods that can truly heal our body. And I discovered all the areas in life that nourish our whole body.
The power of our food is incredible. I still craved more.
Cooking Up Health
There was only one thing left to do. Get in the kitchen to learn how to prepare it in a healthy, mouth-watering delicious way. I enrolled at the Natural Gourmet Institute Chef Training Program and put on my chef whites.
I loved the idea of eating the new foods I had learned about but had zero skills in the kitchen. Time to develop some knife skills, learn how to select and store quality ingredients and how to prepare and serve them.
Serving Up Health
The result of this insatiable craving for natural healing and a deeply nourished life, I’ve dedicated my career and life to bring this information that I learn on the yoga mat, in the classroom and in the kitchen to you. I want you too to experience health, vitality and fulfillment. I hope that you too find some gifts to unwrap in your life.
